the Intuition Starter® interview project
A key aspect to the book Intuition Starter are stories and examples of people discovering, applying and evolving their relationship with intuition. My focus is on real people in everyday life. I am keen to identify and gather information on what real people do when they work with, experience, discover, remember, awaken to, apply intuition.
Essentially this part of the project involves:
1. interviewing people about their connection to intuition
2. taking a photo / small video clip
3. writing a blog post about each story
4. later including selected stories in the published book Intuition Starter®
Why
Stories from real people help others learn about a topic. The experience and sharing provide evidence and support for the existence and application of intuition in work and life. The more real the subjects of the interview then the more we will begin to see that intuition is a natural part of our everyday life.
Also I don’t want this book to just be about my experience. Of course I have my own story to tell and share about intuition, but that makes the teaching very one dimensional. I like to think that just as there are different interests, tastes, hobbies, talents and preferences in people there are different experiences with intuition. Though different these experiences viewed collectively begin to demonstrate common threads. It is the discovery and illustration of what we share that intrigues me about this work.
How you will benefit
At no financial cost to you, this interview is a chance for you to do some self exploration enhanced through a coaching style approach. The focus of the session is on you and will increase your self awareness, raise new and interesting questions about your relationship with intuition and focus you on what value intuition has in your life. I guarantee that at the end of the process you will have much greater insight about you and your place in this world. The constructive application of this insight is then for you to further explore.
Location
Interviews can take place anywhere. Ideally the meeting is in a private location where you can be open, frank and comfortable. It is also helpful to have minimal or no distractions.
Meetings can be virtual, by phone, via Skype or in person. In person is primarily in Sydney though depending on travel can be elsewhere.
Place will be arranged as part of the set up process.
Timing
The interview offer is ongoing with no cut off period scheduled. Earlier interviews will be considered for the book. Once the print version of the book goes into production then subsequent interviews will be online only.
An interview session will take approximately 1 hour.
Anonymous vs public
I would prefer that interviews are fully open and public. This means your full name, your photo and or video is used. Yet I also understand the desire for privacy. In this case I do not wish to preclude interviewing people just because you don’t want to be public. So I give you the option.
As part of the interview process we can explore this decision if it is one that is important to you.
If you want to be anonymous I will still conduct the interview but not use your name nor your face in a photo. Your story is of interest to me no matter how it gets shared.
I let you reserve the right to make this decision up until time of publication on the blog. I also give you the freedom to at any time decide that you no longer wish for your information to be published. I don’t want this to happen, yet I want you to know that I am flexible and have your best interests at heart.
Minimum requirements
At a minimum I ask that volunteers be 18 years or older. I am writing specifically for adults and not children. I also require consent so you need to be at least 18 years of age to provide this on your own.
To participate I require that you read and sign an agreement to be interviewed form. This requirement satisfies my publishing requirements for later and also protects you in what you agree to disclose, not disclose.
Irrespective of the way you choose to share your story I ask that at a minimum I can incorporate the qualitative and quantitative information from our connection into my book research.
The process
Organising the meeting will involve the following steps:
- Complete the online form indicating your interest in the project.
- Review of your form submission by Jenn Shallvey.
- Initial email and/or phone conversation to ascertain whether participation is right for you and the project.
- Arrangement of the interview location, date and time.
- Completion of pre-interview questionnaire plus waiver form.
- Interview.
- Post interview follow up.
- Initial draft of interview shared with you to verify facts and quotes.
- Publishing of interview on IntuitionStarter.com website plus associated sites and links.
The nature of the interview will be about your experience with intuition. I will send you some questions in advance. You can submit some answers in writing, however I want to use the interview to explore and gather the story element behind your journey and experience.
Other comments
This exercise is not a cross marketing offer. Interviews will not be conducted and posted simply to provide public exposure. If at anytime the interview seems to be solely for this purpose then the information will not be used, nor posted.
Aside from this criteria I am more than happy to support you in return for your assistance by providing a link to a business or other relevant details that enables people to contact you should they be interested.
